This project involved designing, manufacturing and installing multiple integrated storage solutions through the clients’ home. The client requested that all of their new furniture blended in with the existing decor in their house, so we went to great effort to colour-match each piece to the room it was meant for.
First up were a series of birch plywood alcove units featuring adjustable shelving and bespoke, low-height plinths to open up even more storage space for this growing family. We finished this unit and its push-to-open MDF doors in Farrow & Ball Dix Blue to fit the existing colour scheme. The intention was to blend the unit and shelves into the room and make any items on display stand out.
Next was a solid birch ply under-stair wardrobe unit that we sprayed with Farrow & Ball School House White to match the finish of the banister As with the alcove units, we opted for push-to-open doors and drawers instead of handles and painted them the same colour as the walls to seamlessly integrate the furniture into the home. Low plinths were incorporated again to provide stylistic continuity and even more storage space.
Finally we produced some contemporary kitchen units featuring reeded glass sliding doors, recessed undermounted lighting and a floating shelf. We went for a handless option yet again, using grab holes in the cupboard doors instead, in order to continue to the flush minimalistic look throughout the house. Similar to the alcove units, the kitchen units features different sized spaces and adjustable shelves to offer plenty of different storage solutions.
