No matter the scale, every project starts out as an idea.  Together, through close communication and collaboration, we’ll bring your idea to life. Here we’ve laid out our process from start to finish so you’ll know exactly what’s happening and when.

Whether you have a sketch jotted down on a napkin or a full set of architect’s plans, we’d love to hear what you’ve got in mind. Send us an email, give us a call – whatever works for you.

The more we know, the quicker we can get started. We’d like you to tell us everything; from specific things your new furniture needs to do or store to your favourite colours and how you want the space to feel with your new furniture in it. You could even put together a Pinterest board and share it with us so we’re all on the same page from the get go.

If Pinterest isn’t your thing though, don’t worry; the most important things to send us are some rough dimensions of the space in question and a few pictures too so we can get to work designing bespoke furniture unique to your requirements.

Getting Started

We’ll soon be in touch with a quote based on the information you provided. If you’re in the neighbourhood, we’ll invite you down to the workshop so we can go over it in person.

Once that’s in place, we’ll put together an initial design and send you some impressions of what your project will look like. These designs can be changed and tweaked easily at this point, so once you’re completely happy with what we’ve come up with we’ll get to work.

Our software can individually ‘unfold’ all of the units and pieces in the project in order to work out how much material and what hardware we’ll need to assemble and install.

This lets us give you an itemised quote, unique to your design.

Once you’ve given us the go ahead on the project, we’ll add it to our job list. When it’s time for us to kick things off we’ll be in touch about a deposit for the materials we need; bigger projects might also require an intermediate payment as well.

When the deposit has been paid, we’ll order in all the materials and arrange a date and time to visit you on site. Here we’ll take a full set of measurements, perfect the design, adjust the quote if necessary and ask for your final sign off before we start cutting.

Combining our expertise in traditional woodworking and the very latest computerised cutting technology, we’ll cut all the materials down to size and start putting it all together.

Once your furniture is assembled we’ll add the final touches according to your specifications, whether it’s a classic hand-painted look, an ultra-smooth spray booth lacquer or a specialised, 5-layer crackle effect finish.

Delivery and Installation

We’ll keep you posted on our progress and, when we’re all but done, we’ll be in contact to organise a delivery date that fits your schedule.

On the day, we’ll bring everything we’ve built for your project and with everything we need to fit it so we can get things done quickly and efficiently. We know our builds inside out so we’ll make sure everything is installed as it should be.

Once we’re satisfied with our job and you’re happy with the finished result, we’ll send you an invoice for the remaining amount and let you enjoy your new handmade, bespoke furniture.

Amazingly talented chaps at Kerfworks. They made and installed plywood doors to fit our basic IKEA carcasses. We also had a bespoke storage bench made to match and everything is absolutely beautiful. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is second to none. They are super lovely too and we would recommend them without hesitation. We will definitely use them again for future projects - thanks guys!

Kerf Works made me a bespoke TV unit/sideboard for an awkward shaped lounge and fitted alcove units around a fire place. Working with the guys was a joy, they listened and helped shape my ideas, making changes to the design all the way through the process. Once (carefully and precisely) installed, I was honestly left gobsmacked. It looks better than I could ever have imagined and the quality is second to non. It's not just me, the first of my friends to see it said 'that's awesome, in fact that's some full on Instagram sh*t' which is high praise indeed in these social media times... I can't recommend the guys highly enough. Talented, reliable, tidy, professional and nice chaps to boot. If you're in two minds, just do it. You won't regret it.

Really glad I got in touch with the guys at Kerf Works, they did a fantastic job with my new kitchen cabinet doors. They were really helpful throughout and turned them around even quicker than expected. I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

The team at kerf works did a great job designing, building and installing two built in wardrobes which were fitted into an unusual space with VERY high ceilings. The timeline which was communicated at the start of the job was kept to, and the finished installation was accurately displayed in the initial designs. The workmanship was finished to a high standard, and during the install the room was always kept clean and well organised. The waiting list for the install can be a couple months as they are popular so if you’re considering using kerf works I would recommend contacting them as soon as you can.

Can't recommend these guys highly enough! They're efficient, friendly, great at communicating and very talented. They installed bespoke wardrobes and a chest of drawers in our attic, which has awkward sloping ceilings and uneven walls. The result is beautiful, the build quality is extremely high, and it's improved our room no end. The price was also remarkably good for all the work that they put in. 100% would ask for their help again, and would recommend to friends/family.
