Whether you have a sketch jotted down on a napkin or a full set of architect’s plans, we’d love to hear what you’ve got in mind. Send us an email, give us a call – whatever works for you.
The more we know, the quicker we can get started. We’d like you to tell us everything; from specific things your new furniture needs to do or store to your favourite colours and how you want the space to feel with your new furniture in it. You could even put together a Pinterest board and share it with us so we’re all on the same page from the get go.
If Pinterest isn’t your thing though, don’t worry; the most important things to send us are some rough dimensions of the space in question and a few pictures too so we can get to work designing bespoke furniture unique to your requirements.
We’ll soon be in touch with a quote based on the information you provided. If you’re in the neighbourhood, we’ll invite you down to the workshop so we can go over it in person.
Once that’s in place, we’ll put together an initial design and send you some impressions of what your project will look like. These designs can be changed and tweaked easily at this point, so once you’re completely happy with what we’ve come up with we’ll get to work.
Our software can individually ‘unfold’ all of the units and pieces in the project in order to work out how much material and what hardware we’ll need to assemble and install.
This lets us give you an itemised quote, unique to your design.
Once you’ve given us the go ahead on the project, we’ll add it to our job list. When it’s time for us to kick things off we’ll be in touch about a deposit for the materials we need; bigger projects might also require an intermediate payment as well.
When the deposit has been paid, we’ll order in all the materials and arrange a date and time to visit you on site. Here we’ll take a full set of measurements, perfect the design, adjust the quote if necessary and ask for your final sign off before we start cutting.
Combining our expertise in traditional woodworking and the very latest computerised cutting technology, we’ll cut all the materials down to size and start putting it all together.
Once your furniture is assembled we’ll add the final touches according to your specifications, whether it’s a classic hand-painted look, an ultra-smooth spray booth lacquer or a specialised, 5-layer crackle effect finish.
We’ll keep you posted on our progress and, when we’re all but done, we’ll be in contact to organise a delivery date that fits your schedule.
On the day, we’ll bring everything we’ve built for your project and with everything we need to fit it so we can get things done quickly and efficiently. We know our builds inside out so we’ll make sure everything is installed as it should be.
Once we’re satisfied with our job and you’re happy with the finished result, we’ll send you an invoice for the remaining amount and let you enjoy your new handmade, bespoke furniture.
Can't recommend these guys highly enough! They're efficient, friendly, great at communicating and very talented. They installed bespoke wardrobes and a chest of drawers in our attic, which has awkward sloping ceilings and uneven walls. The result is beautiful, the build quality is extremely high, and it's improved our room no end. The price was also remarkably good for all the work that they put in. 100% would ask for their help again, and would recommend to friends/family.
Thrilled with our new bespoke units which will house our TV and hifi, as well as providing storage and display space. By the time we found Kerf we had spent months failing to find ready made units to replace some elderly G Plan ones bought years ago for a different house. From first email contact until project completion Kerf responded promptly to email contact, Joss was unfailingly helpful in adapting and revising the brief and hosting our several visits to the workshop, and Chris and Rory ably completed the installation in a day. Great to find a local company able to undertake the work for us and we hope the company continues to thrive.
We love our TV cabinet and shelves. Really great guys with everything from initial planning, sending over quotes, finished specs and then installation. Really easy to deal with and a great end product. Would highly recommend.
We're absolutely delighted with the finished unit. The quality of the workmanship is great. It also looks fab and its lovely to have something that really works in the space.
Kerf Works have recently completed a bespoke exhibition kit for Sheffield Hallam Universities brand new Engineering and Mathematics exhibition space. We could not be happier with the finished product. Our peg boards are beautifully made with fantastic attention to detail and fit the space perfectly allowing our students and industry partners to display their project work in a professional and well curated way. I could not recommend Kerf Works enough. They're are an incredibly professional outfit with a passion for creating beautiful products and going the extra mile to help the client every step of the way.
